Morgan is getting back to her normal happy self again. After a few days of dealing with her crankiness I began to put her down for naps early and even down to bed early, after a few days of that her mood began to perk up. She also was constipated last weekend (sorry for the TMI) I cut out all snacks and limited her milk intake, again after a few days of this her mood was even better.
All in all my poor baby was overtired and was having trouble digesting all the crap we were giving her. It is a slippery slope in our household. One day of staying up late leads to another and then another next thing we know we are all going to bed at 1030 and trying to still wake up at our regular time. Same goes for snacks. First its just after dinner once a week next thing I know it’s after every meal almost everyday, all the while she seems to be eating less and less of the food that is good for her.
Everyday we need to make the conscious decision to eat better and that starts at the store. If you don’t want your kids eating crap all day just don’t buy it. It’s that simple. Another thing we can do to eat healthier is to plan/shop for meals as far ahead of time as possible. This helps to stop the last minute fast unhealthy meals. What I have been cooking lately is super quick flavorful meals that consist of a protein and 2-3 veggies that are more often than not cooked in one pot.
Sleep is just as important as eating right. I need to get back into the habit of planning our day around Morgan’s nap schedule not the other way around. She wakes up so happy when she gets in a good nap.
We are well on our way to getting our happy baby back. We have missed her so much.
How have your toddler’s been handling a new summer schedule? Or were you able to keep it all the same?
